Antennas and antenna installers

Why Switch?

Will I need to replace my antenna?

Many existing antennas will be able to receive digital transmissions without any problem, but in some cases equipment may need to be upgraded to receive reliable digital signals. The Government is working with antenna installers to ensure consumers have access to up-to-date and reliable information about antennas for digital TV reception.

Antenna installers in Mildura
There are antenna installers in the Mildura region who display the get ready for digital TV logo on a badge, which identifies them as having been endorsed under the Government’s endorsement scheme for antenna installers. There are three levels at which an installer can be tested and receive Government endorsement - Domestic/Single Dwelling, Commercial/Master Antenna TV and/or Free-To-Air satellite.

You can contact an endorsed installer when seeking advice about antennas and the provision of antenna installation services that might be required for Digital Switchover in the Mildura/Sunraysia region.

Building inspections in Mildura
The Government has commissioned Australian Digital Testing to report on the issues facing residents in buildings such as apartments, townhouse developments and public facilities with receiving free-to-air digital TV.

Australian Digital Testing is now scheduling Government-funded technical inspections of buildings in the Mildura/Sunraysia television licence area. Following each inspection, a free independent technical report will be provided to the owner(s) or manager. The report will include recommendations for any correctional work including the expected cost of that work.

Inspections will take place in the Mildura area between 12 October 2009 and 23 October 2009. Residents or building managers can register their building for a free technical inspection by completing the online form at www.digitaltesting.com.au/registration.

If you have any queries about the registration process, please call Australian Digital Testing on 02 9889 3067. Once your registration is received Australian Digital Testing will be in contact with you to arrange a convenient time to do the inspection.

When a building inspection is complete, residents or building managers can indicate that they would like to be contacted by a Government representative to follow up regarding the upgrading of their building’s antenna system.
