Quality Assurance Scheme
The Government is working with electronics suppliers, retailers and antenna installers to ensure consumers have access to up-to-date and reliable information about digital TV products and services. As part of the quality assurance scheme a series of labels have been developed to help identify televisions and set top boxes that are digital ready. In addition, an online assessment program for retailers and antenna installers has been developed. Participation in these programs is voluntary.
Digital Switchover Labelling Scheme
Three labels have been developed which can be applied to televisions, set top boxes and digital television recorders. The labels are:
Suppliers are invited to partner with the Australian Government to place these labels on their products.

Retail Advisor Scheme
Retailers can choose to partner with the Australian Government to help consumers get ready for the digital switchover. Staff from participating retail stores will complete Government assessment to become accredited Digital Advisors. Digital Advisors will wear a badge displaying the Government’s 'Get Ready for Digital TV' logo and will be able to inform consumers about what the Government labels mean, the full range of options to get digital ready, digital switchover and where to find more information.
Retailers can also use the 'Get Ready for Digital TV' logo in participating stores and in product advertisement for the participating store.
The scheme is not available to retailers operating door-to-door or other roaming type businesses.

Antenna Installer Endorsement Scheme
The Antenna Installer Endorsement Scheme has been established as part of the Government’s quality assurance measures to ensure consumers have access to skilled and endorsed antenna installers, to help them get ready for digital TV.
Antenna installers seeking to qualify for endorsement can register here. Installers will have their skills and knowledge assessed against industry agreed minimum standards and can apply to be endorsed at three levels: Domestic, Commercial and/or Satellite.
Businesses with an endorsed installer can also register to have their business licensed to use the Australian Government's Get Ready for Digital TV logo. The scheme is not available to door-to-door or other roaming type businesses.
Digital TV Antenna Systems Handbooks
These handbooks were developed by the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) in co-operation with the Digital Switchover Taskforce and television-associated industries.
The Digital TV Antenna Systems Handbook will assist developers, owners, managers and tenants of buildings with shared antenna systems prepare for digital television switchover.
The Digital TV Antenna Systems for Homes Handbook provides guidance on the conversion of free-to-air analog TV systems in single dwellings so that they can receive free-to-air digital TV transmissions. Single dwellings include houses and other properties with stand alone antenna systems.
