What is the Antenna Installer Endorsement Scheme?
The Antenna Installer Endorsement Scheme has been developed in consultation with industry to ensure consumers have access to knowledgeable and experienced antenna installers, to help them get ready for digital TV.
Antenna installers seeking endorsement have their registration approved and then undertake an online assessment based on industry agreed minimum standards.
Endorsed antenna installers have their business contact details published on this website so consumers can find them
The Scheme is voluntary and free to join. It’s not a licence or qualification for antenna installers, but a way for consumers to know that installers have met the industry agreed standards.
How can an endorsed antenna installer help me?
If you are having reception issues, you should consider engaging an Australian Government endorsed antenna installer to check that your antenna is properly configured to receive the digital signals available in your area.
An endorsed antenna installer will measure digital television signal levels at your home and provide advice about antenna selection, positioning, orientation and choice of correct cables, connectors and distribution equipment.
The factsheet ‘Antenna trouble shooting checklist’ outlines further what an endorsed antenna installer may do at your home to improve your reception.
Factsheets are available from the Info centre on this website or via the Related Information link at the bottom of this page.
What does it mean when an antenna installer is endorsed?
Installers may be endorsed at the following levels: Domestic, Commercial and/or Satellite.
Domestic level of endorsement means that installers have been assessed as meeting agreed industry standards to complete household digital reception systems installations, including cabling, terrestrial antennas and to conduct radio frequency measurements.
Commercial level of endorsement means that installers have been assessed as meeting agreed industry standards to complete more complex digital reception system installations, such as in buildings with shared and master antenna systems. Commercially endorsed antenna installers have also completed the domestic level of assessment.
Satellite level of endorsement means that installers have been assessed as meeting agreed industry standards to install satellite antenna systems. Satellite level endorsed antenna installers have also completed the domestic level of assessment.
