Who will install my equipment?

The scheme uses major companies contracted by the government to carry out installations for eligible people. The companies delivering the scheme are subject to strict service standards and conditions. They are also required to provide a 12-month warranty on all equipment and work and to provide a special help line service for 12 months after your installation.

TechLife Solutions delivered the Household Assistance Scheme in the Mildura/Sunraysia switchover area in the first half of 2010.

TechLife Solutions and Skybridge Australia delivered the scheme in the regional South Australia and Broken Hill switchover areas in the second half of 2010.

TechLife Solutions and Skybridge delivered the scheme in regional Victoria switchover areas in the first half of 2011.

Skybridge and TechLife Solutions delivered the scheme in regional Queensland switchover areas in the second half of 2011.

Skybridge and Techlife Solutions are now delivering the Household Assistance Scheme in regional Southern New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.

Scheme Guidelines and Complaints Procedure

The guidelines describe how the Scheme will operate during the switch to digital-only TV in the Mildura/Sunraysia, regional South Australia and Broken Hill, regional Victoria, regional Queensland and regional New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory switchover areas. These guidelines are subject to any review and amendment that may occur over this time.

Household Assistance Scheme brochure and factsheet

Centrelink will send letters to potentially eligible individuals inviting them to participate in the Household Assistance Scheme. The brochure accompanying the letter provides additional information about the scheme, including details of who is eligible and how to apply.

User guides for high definition set-top boxes provided under the Scheme

Under the Scheme, the Service Contractor will supply, install and demonstrate the use of a high definition set-top box in eligible households. Customers are also provided with a Quick Reference Guide and User's Manual to assist with using the set top box and remote control. Copies of these guides are available below.
