The number of Australian households that have converted to digital TV has grown by 21 percentage points over the past year.
The Digital Tracker showed positive movements across all six indicators – awareness, understanding, attitude, intention, conversion and satisfaction – in the first quarter of 2010.

Australians who can't receive digital TV services from transmission towers in their area will be able to access the full range of digital TV programming from the new digital TV satellite service.
The satellite service will also provide high definition channels and a dedicated local news channel in addition to state-based ABC and SBS news services on their respective channels.

The Ouyen community in the Mallee region of Victoria welcomed its new digital TV service in the first week of May.
The new transmitter was established by broadcasters to serve the town, about 100 kilometres south of Mildura. The new transmitter provides the full range of digital TV programs to the Ouyen area and means that residents now have a local digital TV signal.

The Digital Switchover Liaison Officer’s (DSLO) role is to support local communities with the switch to digital TV.
The DSLO is the local connection for local community groups and plays an important role in educating residents and providing information about the digital switchover.
