Early switchover towns
The digital switchover has occurred in some towns earlier than others. This is because these towns relied on their local analog transmission towers that had to be switched early to free up broadcast space. Broadcasters had to switch off the analog signal, convert the tower and then switch on the digital signal. This process was usually completed on the same day.
