The switch to digital TV represents a milestone for Australia. On May 5 2011, areas of regional Victoria will switch off their analog TV signals and switch to digital TV.

Specific information for Wye River
Analog services will not be switching off at Wye River on 5 May 2011. In the town of Wye River, there have been technical difficulties for some households in getting a clear line of site through to the satellite. In order to ensure television services continue for these residents, the Digital Switchover Taskforce is examining alternative options for digital television.
Are you experiencing reception issues?
Reception difficulties are often the result of a weak signal. In some cases, an endorsed antenna installer may advise on ways of improving reception, even in areas with marginal signal coverage. Some antenna installers have been endorsed by the Australian Government under the Antenna Installer Endorsement Scheme. You can use mySwitch to find your nearest endorsed antenna installer.
You should check mySwitch to see whether digital television signals are available in your area, and whether coverage from the transmitter site is adequate. If a television service is not receivable in a particular area, contact the relevant broadcaster who can confirm if television service is available in the area. You may also need to consider:
- obstructions to signals
- re-scanning a set top box, and
- antenna installation.
